Our beloved mother left this earth to be with the Lord on November 14, 2024, she was 94 years old.  Ada Belle Grice was born in Paris, Arkansas on January 29, 1930.  She graduated as Valedictorian of her local high school.

Ada started an adventurous journey around the United States, working odd jobs along the way.  She returned briefly to help out her parents and her four siblings, when her father was no longer able to work in the coal mines.  The family migrated to Salinas, California to work in the thriving produce industry.  While there, she met up with Tom Grice, an acquaintance from Arkansas.  They soon married and raised four boys together.  Ada continued to work in the vegetable industry until she was in her 50's, when the plant she worked in closed down.  Ada began working at a school cafeteria where she quickly worked her way up to supervising a kitchen of her own at Fremont elementary school.  Ada loved serving and seeing the children fed and happy.  She worked there until she retired at age 70.

Ada is survived by her three sons, Glen (Rita) Grice of Moss Landing, CA; Rick Grice of Yuma, AZ; and Ron (Alicia) Grice also from Yuma, AZ. She is also survived by eight grandkids, and nine great grandkids, and many others of our extended family who call her their beloved grandmother and great grandmother.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Elwed and Prebble Barnett from Arkansas; her husband Tom Grice of Salinas CA; and son Mike Grice of Hollister CA. She was also preceded in death by her four siblings, her sisters Oleta Fern Woodruff of Rio Vista CA, and Mary Langston of Arkansas; and her brothers Herb Barnett and Tommy Barnett of Yuma AZ.

Ada was a strong and loving woman, and we are proud to call her our mother.  She will be missed deeply.
