Antonia "Toña" Schmitt

April 15, 1952 - March 8, 2026

Antonia "Toña" Schmitt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 73. She was born on April 15, 1952, in San Luis, Mexico.

Toña was a loving and devoted woman who found great joy in caring for her family. She especially loved cooking and sharing meals with those she loved. In the early years of her marriage, she and her husband, Paul, made many cherished trips to Colorado, returning nearly every year through the 1980s. Those travels became some of their happiest memories together.

Toña had a special love for children and treasured the time she spent with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Schmitt; her two children, Melissa and Paulito; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Following the services, Toña will be cremated at Sunset Vista Funeral Home.

Flowers are welcome, but for those who wish, donations may be made to Hospice of Yuma in her memory.

Toña will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, her kindness, and the joy she brought to her family and friends.
