Obituary

Bryan Lee Morrill was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 25,1950 and passed away on February 11, 2024

Bryan loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with his children, hunting, fishing, playing Texas Hold 'Em, and training hunting dogs.  His sign language name was based on being "Happy."  He enjoyed helping people, and building and fixing things.  Bryan used his skills on missions to the Dominican Republic, with Stoneridge Church.  He was also in the car club, repairing cars with a crew from the church on Saturday mornings. When it was time for programs at school, he and Dori would be building props for the sets.  The students will never know how many of the props for their musicals were created by someone who would never hear the music.  In heaven, he will finally be able to hear the music and his children's and grandchildren's voices.

Bryan was also on the Arizona Governor's Board for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and SMILE, and was an advocate for people with disabilities. He worked to ensure they had representation and up to date technology.  He pushed for rights for the Deaf, knowing that he could communicate and be heard.

Being Deaf, he often had to just plow ahead, without worrying what someone might think.  He canon-balled through many things.  Appropriately, as a high school student, Bryan participated in Water Polo.

Bryan grew up in Whittier, California, and moved to Texas when he was 19.  In Texas, Bryan became a cowboy, wrestling steers and roping. He became a pecan tree specialist, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Husbandry and a Master's Degree in Agriculture from Sam Houston State.  While in college, he ran a bakery, among other jobs.  He eventually ended up in Yuma, Arizona where the kids grew up.  He became a building inspector at YPG, then used his Agricultural Degrees and became a Natural Resource Specialist for MCAS Yuma. He retired in Yuma, Arizona 2010.
