Erving Abel died peacefully at his home in Yuma in the early morning hours of Friday, November 26, 2021. He was 89 years old. Erv was born in Brainerd, MN on September 2, 1932 to Erving D. Abel, Sr., and Ethel M. Abel. He grew up in Little Falls, MN and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1950. Following his marriage to Luella Friese of Long Prairie, MN Erv worked in construction for Reserve Mining at Silver Bay and Babbitt, MN. Later he was employed by Murphy Finance in Duluth, MN and Arkansas City, KS. He was then employed by successor company, GAC Finance, in Grand Forks and Bismarck, ND. He then became a real estate broker for ASK, Inc. of Minot, ND. headquartered in Dickinson, ND. His final employment was with the Community Action Program of Dickinson, ND where the couple lived for more than 30 years.

Following retirement Erv and his wife traveled to Yuma, AZ as winter visitors for 14 years before settling there permanently in 2011.

Erv enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. He also did woodworking, making toys for children and small pieces of furniture and picture frames.

He was predeceased by one son, Bradley, and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 67 years and one daughter, Debra Evans of Mobridge, SD and one grandson, Kellen Abel, of Mancelona, MI.
