Eugene "Gene" Kenneth Pape, 92, of Yuma, AZ. passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Gene was born in Tacoma, WA on February 14, 1922. He was a WWII veteran. Gene was married to Betty in 1941; they were married 65 years. Gene is survived by his grandchildren, James Pape, Jenae Pape-Miller, Sabrina Hardy, and Suzette Dowell; 8 great grandchildren, daughter-n-law, Candy Pape, and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Anderson Pape; son, Eugene K. Pape II, daughter, Diana L. Pape Vossler. The graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Sunset Vista Funeral home, 11357 E. 40th St. The Legion Ceremonial Team will be officiating. Reception will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion, 2575 Virginia Drive. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Legion or the DAV.
