Gayle Elaine
Raney
Dec 1, 1925 — Jul 31, 2021
Yuma
RANEY, Gayle, Elaine, aged 95, answered the call of her Beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 31, 2021 . During her almost 100 years on this earth, she "Kept the faith, fought a good fight and finished her course; henceforth is laid up for her crown of righteousness." We cherish her memory and thank Almighty God for her life and example! She and her husband Frank Raney, now deceased, were long -term "snowbirds," traveling between, Bellingham, Washington and Yuma, Arizona. Gayle was an active member of the Foothills Assembly of God and served as the Church Treasurer during the Pastoral Tenure of Rick and Darlis Sailors.
Her multiple talents included hospitality, cooking, organizing, sewing, quilting, and croqueting to name a few. Her greatest gifts were a gracious spirit and a heart to LISTEN.
She retired from Lynden Highschool where she worked for many years as the secretary to the Superintendent of schools. She held many other positions over the years, including, a Management position during World War II in a factory that made airplane parts. She was a tough taskmaster and insisted on everyone doing their job with excellence, "for our boys," she said. She also worked as a Nursing Assistant. Secretary for Pepsi Cola, and Secretary to a Detective Agency. (A job she was particularly fond of because she loved to try to solve the crimes that passed over her desk.)
She is survived by five children: Diane, Myron, Daryl, Bonnie and Jeff. She also leaves a legacy of 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
