Glen C. "Rock" Sherwood Jr., 72, was born August 16, 1942 in Los Angeles, Ca. Passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2015 at Yuma Regional Medical Center with his loving wife Janet by his side after a long battle with various Agent Orange related conditions. Rock, as he was affectionately known by many, served in the U.S. Army for over 31 years retiring in 1991 as the Command Sergeant Major of Yuma Proving Ground. Rock served several tours in Vietnam as well as other overseas locations such as Panama, South Korea, Japan, and Germany. His Decorations and Medals include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, several Vietnam Service Medals, the Order of Saint Barbara, and many other medals and ribbons. Rock was a Life Member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Rock is survived by his wife and constant companion of 40 years, Janet E. Cook as well as his beloved dog Jena.
