Obituary

James (Jim) R. Love (Age 78) was born September 2, 1939 in Spokane, WA. He passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, in Yuma, AZ. Jim always enjoyed Mexico despite not speaking Spanish or even liking hot sauce. After leaving Denver, CO, for Yuma, AZ, where he retired early, at age 57, from driving semi-trucks, he and his wife got to spend even more time across the border exploring Mexico, meeting people, and making long-lasting friendships. Every year Jim and his wife would escape from Yuma's summer heat by driving their motor home to Estero Beach to cool off. They also enjoyed rooting for their favorite baseball teams (first the Colorado Rockies and later replaced by the Arizona Diamondbacks). Another favorite pastime was caring for their furry, and some not so furry, dogs. Jim was a big car enthusiast and was involved in several car clubs. Over the years he souped-up several cars and even built a few cars. Lastly, he purchased a Mercedes-AMG SL65 convertible roadster; checking an item off his "bucket list". Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Love, of 38 years, and his sister, Judy Love. He is survived by 3 daughters, his brothers, in-laws, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Jim will always be loved, remembered, and missed. We take comfort in knowing that he's on the highway to peace. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Humane Society of Yuma, https://www.hsoyuma.com/ donate.html .
