Obituary

Jason Woodrow McGraw

06.06.1973 - 03.31.2023

Jason Woodrow McGraw, age 49, passed away due to a heart attack on the morning of March 31, 2023 in Yuma, Arizona, just weeks before his fiftieth birthday.

He was born June 6, 1973 on a US military base in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. He was the first son of William Mack McGraw and Kari-Jeanne Egidie McGraw (born Iversen).

Jason had a strong connection to his Norwegian heritage. In his earlier years, he loved sports like skiing, diving, volleyball, and basketball. His first job was as a Lifeguard at the Y.P.G Military Base swimming pool.

After graduating Yuma Union High School in 1992, he began working in the electricical shop at Yuma Proving Grounds. In 2007, he earned his Journeyman Inside Wireman certification, an accomplishment he was proud of. He worked as an electrician at Y.P.G for over 20 years.

Jason loved fishing and exploring the outdoors, and was passionate about cars, motorcycles and offroading. Above all else, he held an absolute and devotional love for his daughter, Aspen. Their bond was uniquely strong due to their shared fight with Type 1 Diabetes, of which both were proud to spread awareness of.

He was warm-hearted, empathic, strong-willed and hard working. He was the type of person who wore his heart on his sleeve, and was kind and genuine to everybody. His charm, sense of humor, and enthusiasm for life enriched the lives of all who were lucky enough to know him.

Jason is survived by his daughter Aspen, his father William, his brother Shane, his sister Jessica, his daughter Lauren, and many other family members, good friends and coworkers; both in the U.S and Norway.

As a beloved son, father, big brother, uncle, nephew, co-worker and friend, Jason Woodrow McGraw will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

- He will be forever in our thoughts and hearts, Rest in Peace.

- For alltid i våre tanker og hjerter, hvil i fred .
