Obituary

Kathleen L. McBride

05/01/1943 - 06/26/2026

Kathleen L. McBride, known as Kathy to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, in Yuma, Arizona, at the age of 83. She was born on May 1, 1943, in Everett, Washington, and graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1961.

Kathy shared 61 loving years of marriage with her husband, Raymond McBride, and together they built a life centered on family, friendship, and adventure. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

A lifelong gardener, Kathy could make beauty bloom anywhere — even in the desert landscape of Arizona. She found joy in life's simple pleasures: baking for loved ones, working crossword puzzles, camping with family, and relaxing around the campfire with a glass of wine in hand. Mornings often began with a cup of coffee and a good book, accompanied by her quick laugh and easy conversation.

In retirement, Kathy and Ray spent twenty years traveling throughout the United States and Canada, creating treasured memories along the way. Kathy documented their journeys through her exquisite nature photography, capturing the beauty she saw in the world around her.

Above all, Kathy will be remembered for her generous spirit. She was a wonderful listener, always ready to lend a helping hand, and a loyal friend to all who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond McBride; her children, Sandy (Tim), Steve (Stacy), and Brian (Holly); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sirie (Josh), Emma, Riley, Kayla, Jake, Ethan, Emaline, Abby, and Gwenneth; and her brothers, Don (Chris) and Ron (Deanna) and Sister in Law Margie McBride.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Kathy's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Yuma Nursing Center for their compassionate care .
