Laura Lynn
Kissinger
Oct 12, 1965 — Feb 28, 2024
Yuma
Laura Lynn Kissinger, 58, passed away on February 28, 2024, near Yuma, Arizona while hiking.
Laura was born in Gloversville, New York on October 12, 1965, and quickly moved to a family home in Broadalbin where she spent 19 years until she had her son Jonathan in Amsterdam, New York. She spent years in Yuma and Phoenix, Arizona, before four years in Ocala, Florida near her mother. Then she and her mother moved to Prescott, Arizona, and finally back to Yuma.
Everything Laura did, she tried to do with perfection. She would research and learn before conquering any task, often writing down details about it in her many notebooks. Uniquely particular about things like her tissues and pens, she appreciated quality and worked hard to afford the things she enjoyed.
Up for any adventure and ready to go with little notice, Laura was an avid hiker, kayaker, and traveler. She enjoyed going on cruises with her mother and taking her on day trips for lunch or sight-seeing.
Laura was a sweet, genuine person who held her beliefs, ethics, and morals to a very high standard and definitely knew how to have fun.
Besides Laura's bubbly laughter and beautiful acceptance, she was also known to be very persistent and determined. Once she put her mind to something, there was no doubt she would figure out a way to get it done by herself. From putting together furniture, to trimming down a 30-foot tree limb by limb, or climbing the next mountain peak, she would stick it out to the end, no matter how long it would take.
She was never afraid to stand up for her beliefs, and always guided friends in maintaining boundaries whenever needed. She was truly someone you would want on your side. A very good friend indeed.
Laura was a devoted Jehovah's Witness since 1996. She had an assured expectation that, although she may sleep for a time in death, she will be raised to life again on a beautiful, peaceful, paradise earth.
She is survived by her loving family members:
Her mother, Helen Louise Kissinger-Alden; her son & daughter-in-law Jonathan & Jennifer Stewart; her daughter Tess Harrell & her husband Phil; her brother Brent & his wife Patty; her brother Bradley & his wife Doris; her niece Jamie & her son Ryan, and her niece Olivia & her daughter Nicole.
Preceded in Death by her father Phillip Kissinger
