Linda P.
Lougy

Yuma
Linda Porter Lougy
1/16/50 – 6/13/24
Linda has joined the love of her life and soul mate, Roger Lougy. She passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at a hospital in Yuma, AZ. This is one day before the 1st anniversary of Roger's passing. She has had some medical obstacles to overcome, but none as great as the loss of Roger.
We found a letter that Linda had written before her passing. It is not dated but it is titled "Linda's Farewell." We want to share some of it:
"I died today, 6-13-24 at the age of 74. I think that is still awfully young, don't you? I was born in Sault Ste Marie, MI to wonderful parents, Jerry & Twila Porter. My parents passed on long before me however, I need to thank them for a great childhood, and their love, devotion, and support throughout the years which made me the woman I was and helped me through all my years.
I married Roger Lougy in 1975, the greatest, most caring gentle, compassionate man on earth and I love him dearly. We had the most wonderful times together and built a life that most people would be envious of. We laughed, we played, and traveled the entire United States stopping and seeing anything that piqued our interest. What a wonderful life we shared! From our life together in Utah, Texas, or Arizona, we built together a love of life and adventure that our children and grandchildren were able to share and build into their lives. My beloved Roger passed on 6-14-23 and I have missed him so much! We enjoyed our life with our children, grandchildren, family, and friends. We never had children together however, between us we had 5 wonderful kids that kept us going, like most parents. I lived life to the fullest, so don't mourn my passing, celebrate it, and take this little bit of advice to heart. "If you get a chance to do or try something different, do it – don't regret something you didn't dare try."
Linda is preceded in death by her spouse, Roger Lougy; parents, Jerry & Twila Porter; children, Troy Lougy & Wendy Lougy Hendrikson; and brother, Steve Porter.
Linda is survived by her children; Curtis Lougy, Cody (Bonnie) Lougy, and Michael (Susan) Thomas. Sister, Cathy (Jerry) Overstreet, brother Gary (Lisa) Porter, brother Rich (Phyllis) Porter, and sister-in-law Patsy Porter. Ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A tribute for Linda will be held at the Tate Mortuary on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. A light luncheon and celebration of her life, (and for Linda, a celebration of her being reunited with Roger), will be held at Gary & Lisa Porter's home (262 Tahoe, Tooele, Utah) at 12:30 for the family.
