Margaret Sutherland (lovingly known as Marge) 86, of Yuma Arizona passed away on September 10, 2017, from cancer at home. Marge was born in Olean, New York on July 7, 1931 to John Adelbert Nutt and Margret (Mohr) Nutt.

While growing up in San Diego, she attended Our Lady of Peace Academy, transferring to Rosary High School in 1949, where she became first student body president.

She married Jim Sutherland (deceased) on August 14, 1964. Marge and Jim owned The Yuma Cycle Center from 1968 – 1980, where she had her own dirt bike, Sweetie Pie and rode in the desert. After selling the shop, Marge worked as an admittance representative at YRMC retiring in 1994.

Throughout her life Marge was an avid seamstress; after retirement she began quilting and joined the Desert Lilies Quilt Club, where she served as president for 7 years. We were blessed to have such an avid quilter in the family, who supplied us with quilts full of love and beautiful memories.

Marge was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she attended mass daily.

She is survived by sister, Aileen Mahoney (Hornell, NY), several wonderful nieces and nephews. Her children; Alexis Brokaw (Yuma, AZ), Patrick Stevenson (Costa Mesa, CA), Jason Dunn (Tucson, AZ). Grandchildren; Tiffany Brokaw (Lance Gruben), Brice Brokaw (Maggie), Sarah Stevenson and Michael Sutherland (Mia).She has 6 great-grandchildren; Aden Brokaw, Ava Brokaw, Xavier Gruben, Logan Gruben, Matthew Sutherland, and Michael Sutherland.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Sutherland, Susan Lee Sutherland, and Mike Sutherland.

She will be remembered as the sassy, beautiful, smart, and loving woman she was. Marge can sing with the Angels, and dance to Bob Wills on Saturday nights with Jim. All the while smiling down on us.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church 11:30 am
