Maria Beatriz Wood, 67, of Wellton, Arizona died Monday, April 15, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her mother Petra (nee) Terraza Soto, her father, Roman Soto and her daughter Laura Rose.

She is survived by her loving husband Roy Wood, and their children: Roy Jr. (Debra) of South Korea, Gloria Stahl (Eric) of Kentucky; Raymond (Kerri) of Texas; Elizabeth Wood of Florida; Rachel Horn (Anthony) of Alaska; Naomi Corrie (Steven) of Wisconsin; Danny Wood of Maryland; Kristine Wood of Colorado. She also is survived by her grandchildren: Joshua, Danielle, Jacob, Matteo, Brinella, Devon, Brooke, Eden, Brent, Blake, Starla, Autumn, Lucas, and Jazmyne.

Maria Beatriz was a beloved mother, wife, and homemaker. She also worked as an esteemed cook at a local restaurant which she enjoyed greatly as cooking was one of her greatest joys. She set many goals for herself and attained them while raising her large family. One of her proudest personal achievements was becoming a naturalized citizen in 2003. She attended night school to obtain this goal and worked very hard to pass her American Citizenship test. Maria was an avid believer and influence in altruism. She saved many lives by donating her rare blood type, until she was no longer able. She was seen by family and friends as a very tough woman, who had a heart filled with the a willingness to give to others in need.
