Neil Anthony
Johnson
Dec 17, 2010 — Jul 11, 2022
Yuma
Our precious son, Neil Anthony Johnson, was born to us, Tayllor and Keela Johnson, on
December 17, 2010 in Yuma, Arizona. God loaned him to us for 11 short years, and he was
called home to be with Jesus on July 11, 2022. A fun UTV ride with his brother and cousin
turned tragic, and our lives will never be the same.
Neil brought much joy to those around him, always considerate of others, and doing what he
thought would please us. Neil was a very responsible child, doing his duty with utmost care.
His teachers and studies at school were a highlight of his little life, particularly history. He loved
the Bible, especially the Action Bible, and read through it multiple times. Lately, Neil had been
anticipating God's call to follow Him, and being a Christian was his heart's desire. An hour
before he left us, surrounded by medical personnel and holding his mother's hand, he
proclaimed, "Jesus, I give you my whole heart! Jesus, I love you!" Turning to the nurse beside
him he asked, "Do you know Jesus?" Those final moments are treasures we will hold in our
hearts until we meet him again.
Waiting to join him on the other side are his parents, Tayllor & Keela; beloved brother Nicholas
(9). Grandparents: Grandpa Carl & Grammy Carrie Johnson, Yuma, AZ, Papa Jerry and Nana Kris
Schmidt, Clarksdale, MS. Uncles and aunts: Maradelle & Nathan Unruh, Grifton, NC, Natalie &
Scott Koehn, Homeworth, OH, Jason & Fonda Schmidt, Jessica & Tyson Unruh, Carson & Peggy
Schmidt, Melodia & Dave Unruh, all of Clarksdale, MS. His special Johnson cousins: Noah,
Garrett & Addison, as well as Schmidt cousins who loved him: Todd, Clay, Cruz, Broc, Bo, Eli,
Chyanne & Drake, along with a host of relatives & friends.
The following song was one of Neil's latest favorites, and 1 Corinthians 13 a chapter he
memorized at 4 years old and loved to recite.
The family gives their heartfelt thanks to each and every one for their many prayers and acts of
love and kindness during this difficult time.
