Phyllis Fay Irvine, 95, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026. She was born on November 5, 1930, in Glasgow, Montana, to Rosanna Pauline Pommier Frank and Henry Winslow Frank. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and neighbors.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Irvine, his spouse, Barb Martin, and grandchild, Leo Goldhirsch; her son, Mathew Irvine, his spouse, Kelly, and their daughters, Hailey Mohon and Ashley Irvine; and her great-granddaughters, Marigold and Winslow Fay. Winslow Fay was named in Phyllis’s honor so that her memory will live on.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Rosanna and Henry Frank; her sister, Priscilla Star Scholz; her brother, Sylvester Frank; and her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Irvine.

Phyllis grew up in Spokane, Washington, where she graduated from high school and was Miss Spokane. She cherished fond memories of her childhood, surrounded by the love and support of her family and siblings. She especially remembered her mother’s wonderful home-cooked meals and the potato pancakes her father made. Her father worked for the railroad, and these cherished family memories remained special to her throughout her life. When the snow was high she remembered how her daddy would get up early each morning to get the fire started so the house would be warm for everyone.

It was in Spokane that Phyllis met Bob, the love of her life. They married when she was 21 and shared many loving years together. Bob was a kind and devoted husband who always made sure Phyllis was loved, cared for, and provided for. She was also blessed with wonderful in-laws who welcomed her and treated her as one of their own. Phyllis felt truly blessed and found great joy in raising their two sons, Mathew and Christopher, who were a constant source of love and pride throughout her life.

She and Bob lived in Burien, Washington, for many years and later on Alki Beach. They loved to travel and were members of the Avion Travel Club. They traveled throughout the United States in their RV and visited Italy, Greece, the Panama Canal, and Hawaii.

In 2000, Phyllis and Bob made Yuma, Arizona, their home. She loved the desert, volunteered at Yuma Regional Hospital, and enjoyed her home overlooking the golf course, where she watched golfers, admired the mountains, and enjoyed the birds especially the hummingbirds, road runners and doves.. She loved entertaining guests and gathering family and friends in her home.

Her dear friend Betty Taylor was also her travel companion over the years. Betty made annual trips to Yuma to stay with Phyllis, and their friendship remained a treasured part of her life.

A lifelong dog lover, Phyllis had many beloved Schnauzers over the years. Having pets brought her tremendous happiness and companionship throughout her life. Her last dog was her beloved Spike, whom she adored. She especially enjoyed training her dogs to perform fun tricks.

Phyllis will be remembered for her love of family, travel, faith, friends, entertaining, and the simple joys of life. She brought warmth and joy to those around her and will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Forever loved. Forever remembered.
