Ray Lee Dern, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of honor, family, and dedication. Born on August 7, 1939, Ray proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, a defining chapter of his life that shaped his strong character.

He was the son of the late Cary Dern and Hazel Bacon. Ray was a devoted husband to Patricia Ann (Pickar) Dern, with whom he built a beautiful life centered around family.

A loving father, Ray's memory lives on through his sons, Steven Dern and David Dern, and his daughters, Ronda Kay Mittermiller and Kari Dern-Oliver. He was a dear brother to George Dern and Bonnie Dilger. Ray was also the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and the great-grandfather of 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.

A graveside service will be held to celebrate Ray's life and military service on May 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Vista Cemetery, located at 11357 E 40th Street, Yuma, AZ 85367. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory.
