Raymond L Jay born January 21, 1935, in Oakland, CA. Died October 8, 2023, at the age of 88, in Yuma, AZ. Raymond began his journey in California, discovering a love of airplanes and jumping out of them. He joined the United States Air Force, where he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

After moving to the state of Washington, Raymond retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service.

Ray loved spending time with his family, traveling on yearly vacations to many interesting places in the US. He enjoyed sharing memories of his time in the service, traveling to different countries, like the Philippines, Guam, and Morocco. Ray was an active member of his church serving as Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus. As part of the Knights of Columbus he was dedicated to his fund-raising, and

B  I  N  G  O was one of his favorites!  Ray was an avid fisherman and loved anything to do with airplanes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine of 59 years, and daughters, Cindy, Teresa, and Michelle, and son Michael, and daughter-in-law, Nikole. Ray has three grandchildren, Donald, Zachary, and Brittany.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence C Jay, Sr, his mother Fay L Perrin, and his brother Lawrence Jay, Jr.

Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
