Russell M. Hanke, 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his home in Yuma, AZ. He died of C.O.P.D and heart failure. He was born October 25, 1927 in Garfield, WA. Russ spent most of his younger life in Seattle, WA. In 1963, he moved his family to Anchorage, Alaska where he enjoyed all the last Frontier had to offer. He retired to Yuma, AZ in 1992.Russ was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Hanke; Russ was survived by his four daughters, Sherry Oborn (Paxton), Pamela Ferris (Jerry) both of Palmer, Alaska, Deborah Cornelius (Jack) of Lake Stevens, Washington and Lynn Bresser of Yuma, Arizona; 23 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.Graveside services will be held Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Vista Cemetery, 11357 E 40th Street, Yuma, AZ.
