William Albert Gay Sr., 83 years of age, of Lima, Ohio, passed away on 12/31/2025, in Yuma, Arizona.

William was born on August 6, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, to James W. Gay and Nellie Gay (Harruff) .

William Albert Gay, Sr. served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1966 during the Vietnam War. He worked for General Motors on the assembly line until relocating to San Diego, California in 1971.  William worked over 25 years in the Construction Industry.  William and Linda built and ran several preschools supporting families in San Diego County throughout the years.  In 1997 William joined Solar Turbines, Inc. where he finished his career as a Turbine Engine Package Mechanic.

William enjoyed various sports such as football, baseball, basketball, Nascar, and supercross.  He coached soccer, baseball, and attended swim meets and junior olympics for his kids. He also spent time with his family off roading in the desert.  He enjoyed classic cars and oldie but goodie music.

William Albert Gay, Sr. is survived by his spouse, Linda Sue Gay, sister Ruth Ewen, children, Brynda Marie Gay, Julie Ann Gay, Teresa Lynne Anglin and William Albert Gay, Jr., grandchildren, Savannah, Destanee, Cierra, Kameli, Malia, William, III, Zackary, Makena, Christopher, Isabel, Olivia, great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Ahjah, Aviana, and Amari, all of whom will deeply miss him.

William was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, James, Walter, Marguerite, George, Georgia Isabel, Nellie, and great grandson A.J.

There will be no services at this time. His ashes will be in safe keeping until his Spouse Linda joins him; then their children will have a private Celebration of Life.
