Bill was born to J.T. and Evelyn Hudson in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.When he was 6 years old the family moved to Southeastern Arizona where they lived, his father and brother managed the Vaca Ranch for almost 50 years and two generations.  Bill attended both elementary and high school in Patagonia.  He enjoyed playing sports, with baseball being his favorite. He was a 4-H member and attended State Round-Up at the U of A. He was also a delegate to Boy's State.  Bill enjoyed reloading, shooting and had a special kindness for animals. Through the years  he had great times playing golf and target shooting with special friends.

In 1977 Bill became an Arizona Highway Patrolman and served for 27 years at his originally assigned duty station in Wellton. He was a member of the  S.W.A.T. team and served as a shooting and training instructor for the department.

Bill retired in 2004 and shortly thereafter began his struggle with cancer which continued off and on for 18 years. He lost his battle while at home, with his family by his side.

Bill is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Debbie, brothers Jay Hudson (Louise) of Hobbs New Mexico, Robert Hudson (Dusty) of Mayer, Arizona, niece Emilie Hudson of Centennial CO, nephews Cody Hudson (Lori), Chad Hudson (Angela) of Hobbs, New Mexico, great nephews Rylan O'Brien of Tucson, Arizona, and Blaine Hudson of Hobbs, New Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his immediate family members, parents J.T. and Evelyn Hudson and niece Rebecca Hudson.

Arrangements were made at Sunset Vista Funeral Home in Yuma.  No services are pending.
